Official Rules for Regular Tournaments
1. This is a team tournament, however an angler may enter
alone.
2. Teams must fish from a boat. All waters MUST be accessible by normal boat
propulsion to be legal fishing waters. (If you are not sure if your means is
considered normal propulsion ask a tournament director before the tournament!!)
3. The tournament director may cancel the tournament in the event of severe
weather. The tournament may be rescheduled or money will be refunded. (It is the
fishermen's responsibility to find out about cancellations and or rescheduling.)
4. Starting place for tourney will be discussed at the seminar. The lake is off
limits from midnight the night before the tournament to 1 hour before sunrise .
The Official fishing times will be sunrise to 3 p.m. No line may be in the water
before official start time. All teams must quit fishing by the official quit
time, and must be in the weigh in line no later than 1 hour after the official
quit time. The weigh-in line will open 2 hours before quitting time.
A: Live well inspection will be at the official launch ramp announced at the
seminar. Inspection will start 1 hour before sunrise. After your livewell has
been inspected team may put boat in or travel to a ramp of their choice (if
allowed by state park). Once you have your boat in the water your team may
travel to their fishing spot, and start fishing at sunrise. Inspection line will
close at sunrise unless prior arrangements are made. Any team not checked in for
livewell check will be disqualified.
5. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted during the tournament or weigh ins.
This will be strictly enforced.
6. A total of 8 fish may be weighed in. They must be alive at the weigh in line.
If you are in line and have a struggling fish, a tournament official may verify
that the fish is alive in line.
7. All fish must be hooked legally in the mouth.
8. All fish must be at least 9” long or legal limit, if the lake has a size
limit greater then 9”. It's the team’s responsibility to find out if size
limits apply to each lake.
9. Both live and artificial bait may be used.
10. In case of tie, the money will be evenly split. If there is a tie for the
final position to qualify for the classic, both teams will qualify.
11. Any protest must be in writing no later than 4:30 PM the day of the
tournament. All teams are subject to a polygraph and/or voice stress test. If a
team member fails or refuses to take our polygraph and or voice stress test,
that team will forfeit any winnings and entry money, and may not be eligible to
fish any other Buckeye Crappie Challenge tournament. All decisions by the
tournament director are final.
12. All state and local laws must be obeyed.
13. Seminar will be held the day before the tournament. All teams must have a
representative at the seminar unless prior arrangements are made.
14. All teams who fish must check-in at the weigh-in site to qualify for the
points race. If you have no fish you still must check in or no points will be
awarded and the tournament will not count towards your points.
15. The tournament directors reserve the right to accompany or follow any team
during the tournament
16.The tournament Directors will have final say on all rule infringements and
may call upon the Rules committee at any time for a vote. If a vote is necessary
it shall be by majority decision by the Rules Committee and Tournament
directors.
17. The Rules Committee shall consist of 4 designated
members, with the tournament director acting as alternate in case of a rules
committee member not being present. The duties of the Rules Committee shall be
to assist the directors with weigh-ins, and to propose adopt and amend all BCC
rules and vote on any issues or complaints deemed feasible by the directors.
18. Once set forth, no rules may be changed, added, adopted or removed until the
following season.
19. The Classic waters are off limits the day of all regular tournaments.
